Allow questions to be tagged with multiple subjects.
I'd like to tag certain questions with multiple subjects. For example, a question about hiking trails in WV might be tagged with "hiking, outdoors, West Virginia".

That makes a lot of sense! So we've given you two ways to do this:
1) If you separate multiple tags with commas -- like "travel, Berlin, hotels" or "Volvos, repair, South Bay" -- Aardvark will understand them as separate tags and try to find people who might know about all of these things.
2) If you just enter the tags separately -- like "tag: Berlin"... "tag: hotels"... etc -- Aardvark will also keep all of those in mind as it tries to find the right person to answer.

I would like to agree that the UI isn't very clear. I am using the web GUI and first of all: there is no documentation immediately available in the Ask-form that indicates that you can enter several tags.
Secondly, as David asked, will the tags be ORed or ANDed together?
Thirdly, when entering one tag in the web gui I get feedback on how many people knows about it, but when entering several separated with commas, I get no feedback.
And finally, Alison, you write that it is possible to write &quo... more

So, when "Editing Label" in the web GUI, please add a help button that will display correct and thorough documentation of how you write labels.

The UI isn't very clear here. When I put multiple tags separated with commas, it showed me "Question about <tags I entered>" without any graphical distinction between the tags, so I thought it had lumped them together into one tag called "tag1, tag2, tag3" which it would never find an answerer for.

This one should really get promoted better, I had no Idea you could do this!
David
So does this mean that...
tag: Berlin, hotels ... will query on "Berlin OR hotels"
tag: Berlin tag: hotels ... will query on "Berlin AND hotels"
?

Awesome, thanks Aardvarkers!

this would help me too

I agree that this is a good idea. I am sure that the algorithm under the hood somewhere is assigning multiple tags, but if I know where the boundaries are it might be helpful.
I imagine the question "what flash-memory USB sticks of 2GB+ capacity work well for Ubuntu" should be tagged "USB + memory stick + Ubuntu + Linux", for example.

I was just logging in for the first time to make this same suggestion. Perhaps the format could be something like: scuba diving + great barrier reef
I've fielded many questions that are labelled something like "Seattle" or "Restaurants" but were actually about restaurants in Seattle. Multiple tags would be excellent for location-specific questions.
Thanks for your consideration!
